Tuesday – two special stages: 37 km and 107 km, totally 200 km between Gafsa and Nefta, situated to the west of Tunisia. Today the participants of El Chott will reach the desert and small dunes.

Monday, first special stage was very fast, through the metalled roads and dust clouds. Desert Racer Team finished on 5th positions.

First special stage of El Chott 2006 is finished. Prolog – 8 km metalled road near Gafsa

Second day is finished. Desert Racer Team reached the camp, where George Lucas shoots „Star Wars”.

There were a lot of fast distances today, across a dried-up salt lake and also many dangerous camel grasses.

Desert Racer Team is waiting for the results. There were many mistakes in road book today, but they hope they find all hidden check points.

Tuesday’s results

Two yesterday special stages Desert Racer Team finished on 5 and 3 positions.

The participants of El Chott have 250 km to Douz today. Special stage is 150 km. They will feel the real sand today…

Unfortunately Desert Racer Team made a navigation mistake today. It cost them 1, 5 hour, and probably poor position today.

This is not the only problem they have. Yesterday, broken bearing in a rear wheel damaged the half shaft. They took a lot of spare parts, but any half shaft.

Now Desert Racer Team is trying to find a solution.

Thursday, forth day of El Chott rally

After midnight Desert Racer Team finished repairing their Toyota. They hope – successfully! The participants of rally have 95 km distance into Sahara, from Douz to Ksar Ghilane today, through sand and dunes.

Friday, route to Bir Aouine

Unfortunately, there is no massage from Desert Racer Team, because of the fact there is no contact with them.

Today, the participants of El Chott rally will reach huge dunes on their way to Bir Aouine. It will be a challenge!

Thursday’s result

Thursday special stage Desert Racer Team finished on 10th position. All participants of rally reached the finish line. It takes them from 3 till 9 hours.

Friday’s result

On Friday participants of El Chott Rally started few days struggle on a huge dunes area on Tunisian desert near Algeria.

They begin early in the morning to avoid spending the night on dunes. Yesterday special stage they finished in the afternoon then spent the day on resting and repairing cars.

After difficult and exhausting special stage through the ski route and dune field Desert Racer Team finished on 9 positions and still 6th in general.

Saturday

Whole today special stage is taking place on a field of huge dunes. It requires good condition of people and cars.
